How does CV Parsing Work?

This help article explains what CV parsing is, how it works in softgarden, and the requirements that must be met to use the feature.

What is CV Parsing?

CV parsing is an automatic function that recognizes and structures content from an uploaded CV. This includes, among other things:

  • Name

  • Contact details

  • Work experience

  • Training

read from the document and transferred directly to the appropriate fields of the applicant profile.

How does that work in softgarden?

  1. Applicants upload their CVs via the application form.

  2. The system automatically extracts the content.

  3. The recognized data is transferred to the applicant profile in a structured format.

  4. The original CV is also saved as a file.

Benefits of CV parsing

  • Faster application processing

  • Reduced manual data entry

  • Consistent data quality

  • More efficient teamwork through clearly structured profiles

Important Notes

  • To enable CV parsing, the "Textkernel" add-on must first be activated free of charge via the Marketplace by a user with the Administrator role for the main tenant (and, if applicable, for any child tenants).

  • For data protection and security reasons, the following information is not extracted from the CV:

    • Email address

    • Details regarding severe disability

  • Do not upload "compendium" files; upload only the CV itself.

  • Parsing accuracy may vary depending on the CV's formatting, language, and structure.
