You have the option to adapt and individualize the standard application form on softgarden to a certain extent.
Please note the following general conditions:
The application form applies to all jobs in a system and is therefore the same for all jobs apart from the mandatory questions, which are created specifically for the job. These mandatory questions are always mandatory questions and cannot be set as optional questions like the other information on the application form.
The settings presented below refer exclusively to the application form on the standard careers page. If you use the career site Pro and have activated the modern application form there, this then applies globally. The following settings will then no longer apply; you can access and set up the modern application form via the builder of the career site Pro via the “Application form” area in the dashboard.
To customize the standard application form, as an admin you have to go to “Settings” > “Individualization” > “Application forms” in the top right corner. There you have two options: the application form for jobs and the “Get Connected” form, the form for the talent pool.
For each field, you have the option to set it to either "visible" and "optional" or "mandatory," or to "invisible" and "optional." These settings allow you to determine which information applicants must provide when submitting an application via the career site.
Please note that for applications missing required information, you should check the application's entry channel: if an application was added manually or arrived via an external job board with its own application form, the corresponding mandatory field settings cannot be applied.
The same applies if you have embedded the application form on your own career site using an API: in this case, the use of fields on your external site must be configured by your relevant department to meet your specific requirements. However, this is controlled externally via your own career site and is not managed through the softgarden interface.
In the lower section, you can configure and save the field settings applicable to the Talent Pool.
Please note that, aside from these configuration options, no further form customization is available; no additional input or upload fields can be added beyond the mandatory questions.
For example, if you require applicants to upload their most recent employment reference for a specific job, please use the mandatory question function.
You could, for instance, enter the statement "I hereby confirm that I am uploading my most recent employment reference" in the question field, select "Answer catalog" as the "Answer type," and set "Yes" as the only available answer. You may also use the pre-qualification setting here if desired.
Using this method, the applicant is required to select "Yes" in this section to submit their application, thereby receiving an explicit reminder regarding the necessary file upload.
