How does the pause function help you optimize your recruiting process?

This help article is about pausing applications – a short stop in the application process without direct rejection.

Updated yesterday

The "Pause Application" feature is a useful intermediate step in the recruitment process. It allows you to temporarily take applications out of the active workflow—without directly rejecting them.

Benefits for Your Recruiting Routine

  • More Flexibility: You can pause applications when internal consultation is needed, information is missing, or you want to strategically plan anew.

  • Clear Team Communication: The status "Paused" is visible to everyone and indicates that no decision is currently being made.

  • No Hasty Rejections: You keep the option open to bring candidates back into the process later.

Impact on Processing Time

  • Paused applications do not count towards active processing and do not factor into average processing time.

  • Your KPIs remain realistic and are not distorted by undecided cases.

  • The application remains in the system and can be reactivated at any time.

What Happens to the Emails?

  • You can manually send a message if necessary, e.g., informing about internal review or delay.

  • In the "Customization" settings area → "Automated Emails," you can enable paused applicants to be automatically informed by email at a freely definable rhythm. A stored message template is used, indicating that the application process is still ongoing.

Where Can You Find the Feature?

In the applicant profile on the right side via the three-dot menu, then click on the "Pause" entry.

To resume the application, you can either open the three-dot menu on the right side and click "Resume Application," or directly under the "Application" tab in the applicant profile select the "Resume Application" entry.

💡Tip: Use pausing strategically, especially for candidates you cannot yet evaluate but do not want to lose.
