Why set a posting duration?
The posting duration determines when and for how long your job ad is visible online. This helps you manage your job postings strategically—for example, for planned campaign launches or time-limited vacancies.
How it works in the Job Assistant
Enter job details: Enter all relevant information about the position in the Job Assistant as usual.
Open the shopping cart: In the third step of the shopping cart process, you will find the "Job ad duration" option.
Activate posting duration: Enable the feature and select a start date and, optionally, an end date.
You can also set a future start date; the ad will then be published automatically at the selected time.
If you do not specify a start date, the ad will be published immediately.
If you do not specify an end date, the ad will remain online indefinitely.
Important note regarding the end date:
If you set an end date, the ad will be automatically deactivated once that date is reached—even if a booked (paid) duration on a job board has not yet expired.
Summary:
Setting | Effect |
No start date | Ad is published immediately |
Future start date | Ad is automatically published on the selected date |
No end date | Ad remains online indefinitely |
End date set | Ad is deactivated on the selected date – regardless of the booking |
How can I view the publication date?
Once you have posted a job, you can view the publication date information by going to the specific job, clicking the "Job boards" tab, and then clicking the green button.
Example view of the posting date display:
How can I edit the publication date?
Open the relevant job and switch to the "Job boards" tab. Click the three dots in the corresponding row of the job board list and select "Edit data."
You can then set the desired end date and apply your changes by clicking the "Save" button.
What do I need to consider if I want to change the publication date for paid ads?
If you wish to extend the publication period for paid listings on job portals, a new posting on the respective job portal is required. You can do this—if desired—via the "Post additional ads" menu within the specific job.
Conversely, if you want to shorten the publication period, you can end the posting early via the "Job boards" tab—for example, by setting an earlier end date or manually deactivating it.
📌 Important: The publication date can only be renewed for softgarden’s own job portal. For external job boards, an extension is only possible by placing a new booking.
Please note: If you shorten the duration, you permanently forfeit the remaining days of the posting; refunds or credits are not available.
