What can I do if a job has been assigned to the wrong company?

In this article, you'll learn what to do if a published job has been mistakenly assigned to the wrong company.

Updated over 2 months ago

When creating a new job, you can select the company or client under which the position will be published. However, this assignment cannot be changed later.

1. Act quickly – within 24 hours!

Contact our media team within 24 hours at [email protected] to check if a free cancellation of the publication is still possible. In many cases, cancellation within this period is free – the sooner, the better!

⚠️ Please note: While free cancellation is often possible, it cannot be guaranteed as the final decision lies with the respective job board.

2. Our Feedback

Cancellation is possible

If the cancellation is confirmed, please proceed as follows:

  • Close existing posting channels

  • Copy the job

  • Create and publish the copied job under the correct company

➡️ This way, content and settings are retained, and you can specifically continue working with the desired client.

Cancellation is not possible

If cancellation is no longer possible, we recommend this alternative procedure:

  • Deactivate all non-paid ads

  • Allow paid ads to run until the end of their duration

  • Transfer applications to the newly created job before closing

⚠️ Important: The incorrect company assignment remains visible in paid ads – even if the job is corrected internally.

Unfortunately, retroactive adjustment of the display is not possible.

Our Tip

Pay particular attention to the correct client assignment, the desired job ad layout, and the appropriate application process when creating a job.

  • Since a subsequent change is generally not possible for published jobs – neither by you nor by our softgarden support team.
