The "Get Connected" button found in the standard frontend is not available in Frontend API v3. The simple solution: create a position for unsolicited applications in softgarden, have us hide it from the public job list, and link a custom "Get Connected" or "Unsolicited Application" button in your frontend directly to that position. This way, all unsolicited applications are collected in a single job—and you retain control.
Why this approach?
No uncontrolled talent pool growth: Applications first land in the "speculative application" position. You then actively decide what happens to them.
Fast process: You can review incoming profiles immediately and then: a) move them to a specific role if there is a suitable opening; b) add them to the talent pool if the profile is strong but there is no current vacancy; or c) reject them if they aren't a fit.
Data quality: You avoid "dead records" in your talent pool and keep contact information up to date.
How to set it up
Create a speculative application position – e.g., with the title "Speculative Application (m/f/d)."
Hide the listing – we ensure this position does not appear in your public job list (please let us know).
Place a button on the frontend – add a "Get Connected" or "Speculative Application" button to your careers page and link it to this position (allowing candidates to start their application directly).
Manage incoming applications – new applications are collected in the speculative application position. You decide whether to move them, add them to the talent pool, or send a rejection.
Tips for HR
Clear button text: e.g., "Can't find a suitable role? Submit a speculative application now."
Short form: Basic details + CV upload are usually sufficient.
Visibility: The speculative application position remains hidden in the job list, but candidates can apply for it at any time via the button.
FAQ
Q: Is the "Get Connected" function available directly in the API? A: No. Frontend API v3 does not provide a separate "talent pool application" feature; the speculative application position is the recommended approach.
Q: Can we use multiple speculative application positions (e.g., one per location)? A: Yes—provided it makes sense organizationally. Just make sure to keep the structure clear and manageable.
Q: Who hides the speculative application position? A: We handle that for you. Simply contact technical support, and we’ll take care of it.
Q: Can applications be moved to the talent pool later? A: Yes—after screening, you can move suitable profiles to the talent pool with a single click.
