Customize job postings

Layouts for job advertisements can be managed and adjusted under Settings → Individualization → Job advertisements. In this area, existing layouts can be edited or new layouts created - depending on the role rights assigned.

Access Requirements

The "Job Ads" menu item is visible only if the "Customize job ads" role permission has been assigned in Role Management. By default, this permission is enabled for the "Administrator" role and can be toggled on or off by a user with this role as needed.

You can find Role Management under: Settings → User Management → Roles → Open Role Management

There, the role permission can be added to or removed from individual roles.

Which elements can be customized?

There are two areas available in the layout editor: Design and Content. All central visual and textual elements of the job advertisement can be adjusted there.

Design

The basic design elements of the layout can be adjusted under the “Design” tab, including:

  • Images (e.g. header, logo)

  • Colors and backgrounds

  • Typographic elements such as titles, text and links

  • Buttons (including hover effects)

  • Dividers and other visual elements

Content

The content components of the job advertisement can be edited under the “Content” tab, including:

  • Texts and additional information

  • Widgets such as map, license plate, contact person

  • Certificate widget (visible when certificate page is published)

  • Footer elements

  • Social share area and link to other jobs

Note on the certificate widget:

The certificate widget is only visible if there is a published certificate page. Please also note that this widget is part of a paid additional module.

The following cannot be customized:

  • Basic layout structure (e.g., number of columns)

  • System-defined fonts

  • Position of certain mandatory modules (e.g., "Apply" button)

Which layouts are displayed here?

The overview includes:

  • Default layouts: Job Ad Layout and Two Column Job Ad Layout

  • Custom layouts created by you or your colleagues

  • Inherited layouts from the main tenant (if you are working in a sub-tenant; see note below)

The following are not visible or cannot be edited in this area:

  • Custom, paid layouts created by Customer Support: Please contact your account manager directly for adjustments to these layouts.

Adjusting an existing layout

Here is how to adjust an existing layout:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Customization → Job Ads.

  2. Select an existing layout from the list.

  3. Click the pencil button to enter edit mode.

  4. Make the desired adjustments.

  5. Save the changes to make the layout available for new jobs.

Create a new layout

A new layout can also be created via Settings → Customization → Job advertisements.

  • All standard layouts are managed here – regardless of whether a Career Page Pro is used.

  • You can use the copy function (“Copy” button) to create a new layout based on an existing layout and then adapt it individually.

How is a layout assigned to a job?

A layout does not become active automatically simply because it has been created or edited.

  • The selection is made directly within the job form when creating a new job posting.

  • The selected layout applies only to new or updated job postings.

  • Jobs that have already been published retain their existing layout until they are manually updated.

Important note for jobs that have already been published

If a job has already been published and a modified layout is to be used, the job posting must be renewed. Only through this renewal does the updated layout become visible on the published job advertisement.

Image sizes and technical guidelines

To ensure job ads display optimally across all devices, please follow these recommendations:

Logo

  • Use PNG if possible, as it supports transparent backgrounds and offers lossless quality.

  • JPG can result in visible quality loss for logos.

  • Recommended size: 360 × 91 px

Header image

  • Landscape format for optimal display on desktop and mobile devices

  • High resolution recommended

  • Recommended size: 940 × 225 px

  • Supported formats: JPG or PNG

Social share image

  • Displayed when the job ad is shared on social networks

  • Standard size: 1111 × 583 px

  • Aspect ratio: 1 : 1.91 (height : width)

Text

  • Short, clear headings

  • Structured paragraphs for better readability

  • Avoid long blocks of text, as many applicants read on mobile devices

Colors

  • Choose high-contrast colors to ensure text remains easy to read.

  • Ensure colors are clearly distinguishable for users with visual impairments (accessible design).

  • Ideally, colors should match your website's corporate design to create a consistent brand image.

General technical guidelines

  • Always check the layout in the preview after making changes to ensure images, text, and colors display correctly.

  • Test the ad on various devices (desktop, tablet, smartphone), as the display may vary depending on screen size.

  • Avoid extremely large image files to prevent long loading times.

Note regarding sub-tenants

If your user account is assigned to a sub-tenant, the job ad layouts from the main tenant are automatically inherited.

This means:

  • The layouts appear in the list under Settings → Customization → Job Ads.

  • The pencil icon is greyed out, even though you have the role permission to edit.

Reason: Inherited layouts from the main tenant cannot be edited within the sub-tenant. In this case, a person with administrator rights in the main tenant must make the desired adjustments.
