In Softgarden, there are two key metrics for analyzing the performance of job ads:
Views: This number indicates how often a job ad is opened and viewed. It shows the general interest in the ad.
Clicks: This number shows how often the "Apply Online" button was clicked. It indicates how many people have actively started an application.
The difference between views and clicks can give insights into how convincing and appealing the ad is. A high number of views with relatively few clicks might indicate that optimizations are needed to motivate more applicants to apply.
FAQs
Why are there more applications than viewers (views)?
Why are there portal postings under "job boards" without views and clicks (with applications)?
There are different posting methods under "job boards." Only job boards that use Softgarden URLs (posting for view/viewer; click for clicking the Apply Online button) can output both values.
For portals that integrate posting data via text (such as a StepStone ad booked through Softgarden), no view can be generated, as accessing the StepStone posting is outside the "view area" of Softgarden.
Similarly, portals that do not use Softgarden URLs for application forms cannot generate clicks and thus cannot display them in Softgarden. This refers to portals that offer their own application forms through which applications are submitted to Softgarden.
In this combination, it is possible for portals to trigger an application submission to Softgarden, but not support the pure Softgarden metrics regarding views and clicks, and therefore cannot offer these data.
Also note that manually uploaded or copied applications to a job do not generate views and clicks like direct applications due to this process.
Why are there more clicks than views in a portal posting?
There are portals that, alongside the URL to the posting (view), which shows the Apply Online button (click), offer a direct quick-apply button.
Through this method, it is possible to generate a click directly and thus open the Apply Online form bypassing the view. In this case, it's possible to have a higher click value than view value.
Additionally, it is possible to obtain the link to the application form directly in the job via "Description" on the right over the "Share" area. If this URL is clicked, you are directed immediately to your portal's application form and generate a click for the respective metric directly.
